*Inauthentic Attribution: Only one impression of this print has been observed. The only reason to think that this work is by Ernest Fiene is that his name appears (in a hand other than his own) in the place, lower right, just below the image, where Fiene typically signed his prints. Furthermore, its other annotations and characteristics are also atypical:
It is possible, though very unlikely, that Fiene somewhere, sometime made this completely uncharacteristic print but did not annotate or sign it, and someone else knowing it to be by him annotated it and forged his signature, but there is no credible reason to believe this occurred. Therefore, until new information proves otherwise, we have concluded that this work is not by Ernest Fiene. Signature and Annotation Comparisons:
